Pietro Zito does not like to be called chef. He is a man who, behind the sweet shyness, hides a wide gastronomic culture, learned by his parents and grandparents and by the field itself.
Antichi Sapori history starts like an irresistible call that Pietro has heard since childhood in the rural village of Montegrosso and that led him to become patron of a restaurant: here the city life stress fades away slowly, giving way to smell and taste emotions and memories, which does not leave you even on the way back home.
The impression is really like being at home, welcomed by old friends who tell you about the origin of each dish; you can watch the cooks work through a large window overlooking the hall or decide to personally visit the kitchen: “It is not forbidden to enter the kitchen” is what Pietro likes to say. Simplicity and genuineness are skills not to be hidden.
